The Gunners want to bring in Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain for next season, with Arsene Wenger unconvinced by Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck as his first-choice centre-forwards.
Higuain would undoubtedly be an upgrade in that area, having scored 28 goals in all competitions this season to also attract interest from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool.
The Blues seem to be Arsenal’s main rivals for the Argentine international, but the north London giants are said to be confident of pushing the move through.
