Arsenal are closing in on the £43m double signing of two Southampton players, as the Saints’ summer exodus looks set to continue, according to CaughtOffside.
The Gunners have seen a £27m bid for French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin accepted by the south coast club, and the 24-year-old is also thought to have undergone a medical alongside young right-back Calum Chambers, in a move that will see both players make the switch to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have been in the market for a new signing in midfield this summer, but have turned to Schneiderlin as their top target after failing to persuade Sami Khedira to make the move to north London.
Chambers will also move in a £16m deal to provide new signing Mathieu Debuchy with competition at right-back, making it four summer signings for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as he prepares for the new season.
These two players will follow the likes of Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren out of the Southampton exit door this summer, in what has been a nightmare transfer window for Ronald Koeman’s side.
