Mikel Arteta impressed by the potential of Dan Crowley.
Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta, who is currently sidelined through an injury that has kept him out of action for the last couple of months, has had the chance to cast his eye over the clubs younger stars recently – and the Spaniard is particularly impressed by the talents of 17 year-old midfielder Dan Crowley.
Former Aston Villa prospect Crowley was the best player on the pitch as Arsenal began their FA Youth Cup campaign with a win over Reading recently, scoring a wonderful free kick in the process, and Arteta has been massively impressed by the teenager:
“He has impressed me for two reasons.”
“The first is of course his talent, but also he is gaining maturity too, and if he keeps doing that then he can be a very good player.”
“I’m glad they have given him the armband in the Youth Cup because that will give him more responsibility and he will need to be a real example to the other players.”
He’s at the right club with the right people around him to guide him and to become a very important player.”
