North London rivals tracking Spain international.
Tottenham are the latest club to show interest in Barcelona striker David Villa.
The 31-year-old has been the subject of enquiries from Arsenal also but Barca will not loan him out and will only sell for around £16m.
Liverpool were this week rebuffed in a bold attempt to take Villa on loan.
Barcelona told the Reds that they will not entertain the idea of letting the Spain international go out on loan and will only consider a bumper transfer offer to sell in this window.

Silly season is well and truly upon us but links between David Villa and a switch to the Premier League are gathering pace.
Liverpool, Chelsea and now North London rivals Arsenal and Spurs have all been credited with an interest in the Barcelona star.
Villa has become a peripheral figure at the Nou Camp, starting just six games so far this term, with new boss Tito Vilanova favouring the likes of Pedro, Alexis Sanchez and Christian Tello as support for the irrepressible Lionel Messi.
Once the most feared striker in Europe, Villa suffered a nasty leg break last season which sidelined the World Cup winner for eight months and saw him miss Spain’s victorious Euro 2012 campaign.
But the former Valencia striker, 31, who joined Barcelona in a £33m deal from the Mestalla has proven that he still knows where the net is, scoring five times in La Liga during the current campaign, despite his limited appearances.
Whether or not Villa would be a good fit for Spurs or Arsenal, remains to be seen. Certainly after three years at the Nou Camp, Villa would be comfortable with both teams tradition of pacey, passing football, while few would doubt that he is an upgrade on the likes Olivier Giroud, Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe – despite the latter’s fine form.
But Barcelona are reportedly demanding £12m for Villa and will not consider a loan deal. That’s an awful lot of money to pay for a player the wrong side of 30, and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy are as stingy as they come.
