Young striker poised to move to the Falmer Stadium.
Championship side Brighton look set to beat off competition from Premier League giants Arsenal and Tottenham to sign 17-year-old Le Havre starlet Jeremy Balmy, according to The Sun.
French youngster Balmy is regarded as one of the best talents across the Channel and has impressed watching scouts with his displays for the academy at Le Havre and in the Ligue 2 side’s first-team.
And Brighton are hoping to sign the young striker during the January transfer window, after manager Gus Poyet invited Balmy to train with the club before the start of the current season during which he played in a number of friendlies for the Seagulls.
If the transfer goes through, Brighton would beat Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Tottenham counterpart Andre Villas-Boas to sign the youngster, with both clubs having expressed an interest in bringing Balmy to North London.
Spanish La Liga side Valencia are also understood to be keen on Balmy.
Balmy was tracked by some of Europe’s leading clubs prior to joining Le Havre, with Italian giants AC Milan one those he turned down in favour of becoming part of the set up at the French second division side.
Chelsea vs Arsenal tickets are now on sale for the London derby at Stamford Bridge on January 20th.
