Sydney Swans forward Tim Membrey has requested a trade to St Kilda.
Membrey has played just one game in two seasons with the Swans and has nominated the Saints as his preferred destination after he told Sydney management of his desire to leave the club last week.
St Kilda list manager Ameet Bains confirmed the Saints would now negotiate with the Swans to bring the 20-year-old to the club.
“We will now endeavour to get a trade done,” Bains told St. Kilda’s website.
Membrey was taken at pick no.46 in the 2012 National Draft and only featured once for the Swans in 2014 as a late inclusion in round 19.
With Sydney’s forward stocks filled to the brim with star talent, Membrey is looking for senior opportunities elsewhere.
The Saints have also held discussions with GWS duo Jono O’Rourke and Kristian Jaksch, but it is believed they will not give up its no.1 draft pick for the two players.
