The Ivory Coast striker is set to become available after the player fell out with his Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua, and is now seeking to terminate his contract just seven months into his deal.
Drogba is said to have his sights set on a return to Europe, and a number of top clubs including Juventus and former club Chelsea, are rumoured to be interested in taking him on.
AC Milan coach Allegri has confirmed he would gladly welcome Drogba into his squad if a deal could be negotiated. It is claimed Drogba is seeking a £8 million deal spread over eighteen months.
‘Champions of his calibre are very welcome. [AC Milan Vice-President Adriano] Galliani will know if the deal is feasible. I’m calm, the club is just thinking about what could help us out and what we could do about it’ said Allegri.
‘A player like Drogba would certainly improve both the technical level and self-esteem of the team. We’ll see what the club are able to do, otherwise we’ll carry on as we are.’
If Drogba were to sign for the Rossoneri, it would raise the mouth-watering prospect of a strike parternship between the powerful Ivorian and young teenage sensation Stephen El Shaarawy.
