Italians want Shanghai Shenhua striker at the San Siro.
AC Milan are preparing a move for former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and will sell both Alexandre Pato and Robinho to make way for the Ivorian.
Drogba is reportedly unhappy at Shanghai Shenhua and is keen to leave the Chinese Super League outfit in January.
Chelsea have been linked with a move to re-sign the 34-year-old, who left Stamford Bridge a legend in the summer, after inspiring the Blues the FA Cup and Champions League glory last term.
Italian giants Juventus have also been mooted as possible destination for Drogba but, according to La Gazetta dello Sport, Juve’s Serie A rivals AC Milan are leading the race for the Ivory Coast international.
Drogba is currently preparing for January’s Africa Cup of Nations and has been training with Chelsea since the Chinese season ended in November but talk of a return to West London has cooled since boss Roberto Di Matteo was replaced with Rafael Benitez.
Milan are said to be prepared to offload both Pato and Robinho to make room for Drogba.
Brazilian striker Pato is set to complete a deal which will take him to Club World Cup champions Corinthians for €15m, while talks with compatriot Robinho are still on-going, with both Santos and Atletico Mineiro chasing the former Manchester City man.
And if both deals go through it could pave the way for Drogba to return to European football at the San Siro.
