Vampire Weekend set for Glastonbury?

Vampire Weekend look set to play the Friday night at Glastonbury this summer, festival organiser Emily Eavis has divulged. On her Twitter page, Eavis wrote "YES, FRIDAY 25th?" when a fan asked about the band. She later wrote, 'They have already been booked I promise!'

It completes a hectic week for the indie rockers, after the release of their second album Contra on Monday. To celebrate its releasethey will shortly be embarking on a UK tour.

The Vampire Weekend tour begins at the De La Warr Pavilion on February 5 in Bexhill on Sea, before visits to Cambridge Corn Exchange, Manchester Apollo, the O2 Academy Birmingham and many more top venues across the UK. Vampire Weekend draw their tour to a close with two shows at the O2 Brixton Academy.
