Vampire Weekend have bemoaned the lack of the drink Horchata in London after the close of their whistle stop tour last night. Playing at the Rough Trade East record shop in the capital, the band joked with the crowd about the rice drink that inspired the opening track oftheir latestalbum 'Contra.'
"It's about a drink that's very hard to find in London," frontman Ezra Koenig told the crowd as the band performed 'Horchata'. "That's a damn shame!"
Vampire Weekend aren't gone from the UK long, as they will be back in early February for a massive UK tour.
The Vampire Weekend tour begins at the De La Warr Pavilion on February 5 in Bexhill on Sea, before visits to Cambridge Corn Exchange, Manchester Apollo, the O2 Academy Birmingham and many more top venues across the UK. Vampire Weekend draw their tour to a close with two shows at the O2 Brixton Academy.
