U2 have now been officially confirmed to headline this year's Glastonbury festival. The date was announced by guitarist The Edge at last night's NME Awards.
The band's 2010 appearance was cancelled after Bono suffered a back injury, and they were widely expected to be confirmed for this year's event.
U2 will top the bill on the Pyramid Stage at the event in Somerset on Friday June 24, joining Beyonc and Coldplay at the festival.
Glastonbury tickets are currently sold out, but U2 tickets are available for shows in the US and Australia this summer.
