It is widely believed that Tiger Woods is a certainty to appear at this year's 150th anniversary British Open Championship at St Andrews, despite not yet registering. The world number one has until the 27th May in order to enter his name to play at the tournament, but after a promising comeback to golf at The Masters earlier this month, he is almost sure to compete for what could be his third Open Championship.

Woods has also been invited to participate in a special four-hole event on the day before the championship, open to all living Open champions to mark the tournament's 150th anniversary.

In other British Open news, the famous and notoriously difficult 17th hole at St Andrews golf course has been extended by an extra 40 yards.

British Open tickets for all four days of the competition are available to compare and buy here at Tixdaq.com, with general admission tickets starting at £88 for each day.
