The King's Speech actor Colin Firth wins Golden Globe Award

The star of the hit film The King's Speech, Colin Firth won the Golden Globe Award for Best Dramatic Actor at last night's ceremony. The British actor, who plays the part of King George VI in the film, is now expected to go on to success at the upcoming Oscars for his role.
The film is currently showing at cinemas across the UK, and has gained many positive reviews. Directed by Tom Hooper, the film also stars Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush.
The film follows the moving story of the newly crowned King George VI, who suffers from a crippling stammer, which renders him unable to deliver public addresses. Upon the 1939 declaration of war with Germany, George VI is forced to give a three page speech to the entire nation after trying desperately to overcome his speech impediment.
