The Darkness to play 'hour of hits' at Download Festival

Download Festival booker Andy Copping has promised that The Darkness will deliver "a concise hour of hits" at the festival in June.

The Darkness announced their reformation last month, with their original line-up planning to reconvene after 5 years. As well as saying the plan was for them to play a hit-packed set, Copping also promised the band would be "bringing a tremendous stage show" with them to Download.

Download Festival takes place on June 10-12 at Donington Park. The Darkness will play below headliners Def Leppard on the festival's opening night.

The Darkness re-formed after brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins started talking again after going their separate ways due to the constraints of being in a rock band.
