Seminal Britpop act The Bluetones have announced that they will be splitting up after completing an Autumn tour of the UK.
The four-piece, who formed in Hounslow in 1993, have decided to call it a day with a farewell UK tour later in 2011.
"We're afraid the time has come and we must say farewell," they said. "After 17 years of touring and six studio albums, The Bluetones have decided that this Autumn's tour will be our last. We will be playing a career-spanning set of songs as a way to say thank you to our loyal supporters and hopefully signing off with a bit of a bang."
The London four-piece - Mark Morriss, Adam Devlin, Scott Morriss and Eds Chesters - scored their biggest hit in 1996 with 'Slight Return', which peaked at number 2 in 1996.
