The Big 4 confirmed for Sonisphere 2011

Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth have all been confirmed for the opening night of Sonisphere 2o11. Heavy Metal's Big 4 will be brought together for the first time in the UK, after performing together in Europe at last summer's festivals. They bands collaborated for a cover of Diamond Head's "Am I Evil", with all four bands on stage at once, as well as playing individual sets.

Now for the first time in the UK, the bands will open the Friday night on the 8th July, with Biffy Clyro headlining the Saturday and Slipknot closing on the Sunday night.

Sonisphere tickets are on sale now following the pre sale release last week. The festival is held in Knebworth Park between Friday the 8th July and Sunday the 1oth July.
