Shane Warne backs Michael Clarke for Australia captian

Shane Warne has already congratulated Michael Clarke on becoming Australia cricket captain, despite no announcement being made on Ricky Ponting's successor.

Warne wrote on his twitter page: "Congrats to Michael Clarke on his appointment as skipper of Australia - I believe and know he will do a great job."

Warne's message pre-empts an official announcement which is expected tomorrow, although Clarke does appear to be the overwhelming favourite.
