Rory McIlroy overtakes Tiger Woods in world rankings

Rory McIlroy has moved up the world ranking to a career-best sixth, overtaking Tiger Woods for the first time.

The 21-year-old swapped places with Woods, even though neither have played this week.

McIlroy will be back in action on Thursday as he begins his defence of the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina. Woods, however, will miss the tournament through injury.
