Rage Against The Machine heroes of 2009 after Christmas number one?

After finishing The X Factor's reign at the top of the Christmas singles charts in 2009, Rage Against The Machine were voted Heroes Of The Year by NME Readers. The fact that the proceeds of all the sales of anthem Killing In The Name went to the homeless charity Shelter makes the award a bit more poignant than if it were merely for defeating the X Factor juggernaut.
Rage Against The Machine play a date at Ireland's O2 Arena on the 8th June, followed by a headline appearance at Download Festival.
