Following their successful performance at V Festival 2008 the Prodigy announced a 6 night UK tour from 7-13 December 2008. Tickets officially went on sale at 9am on the 21 August, however some sellers were listing tickets on exchange sites as much as 24 hours before the tickets had officially gone on sale. Tickets were listed for as much as £104.99 over 3 times the face value for the Brixton Academy.
It has become common practice for speculators to forward sell tickets they have yet to purchase on the basis that they will be successful acquiring tickets when they officially go on sale. For some events, recently Oasis, embargos were placed on the sales of tickets before issue date. Ticket buyers are urged to exercise extra caution in these circumstances even though professional brokers are normally proficient at ensuring you get your tickets. If in any doubt, consumers are urged to buy from a reputable exchange that offers guarantees or to scrutinise seller feedback if buying on auction sites.
Although all nights are now sold out there are hundreds of tickets available to buy through the online exchanges. Prices start at £50 and rise to as much as £132.99 for an individual ticket. Face value for a general admission, standing ticket is £27.50.
