Paul McCartney to headline Isle of Wight Festival

Paul McCartney has been confirmed as the Sunday night headliner at this year's Isle of Wight festival. The former Beatle joins Jay-Z and the Strokes as the final headliner in what has shaped up to be an exceptional line-up for this year's event.

Having performed at Glastonbury in2004, McCartney is no stranger to UK festivals, but has never performed at the Isle of Wight.

Other acts already confirmed for the festival include Florence and the Machine, Friendly Fires, Blondie, Pink, Biffy Clyro and Spandau Ballet.

The show will be one of five for McCarntney this June, with the others being held at the RDS Arena in Dublin, Hampden Park in Glasgow, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and Hard Rock Calling in London.
