The Frenchman has some harsh words for Ozil.
There has been a certain amount of criticism being thrown between Mesut Ozil and Real Madrid since the midfielder joined Arsenal and now Zinedine Zidane has entered the debate.
The Madrid legend is new head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant at the Santiago Bernabeu and has revealed what the Frenchman presumably intends to be some harsh truths.
Zidane believes that Ozil was simply not strong enough to stay and fight for a place when new players such as Gareth Bale and Isco were bought in.
“Ozil decided to leave,” the 41-year-old was quoted by goal.com.
“He is a good player who has given us so much so we wish him well.
“There are players who have responded with strength and will to fight for a place, but not everyone reacted the same.”
One such player that the World Cup winner referred to is Angel Di Maria, with the Argentine believed to be one of stars who’s place was threatened when Bale was signed for a world record £85.3m.
However, the 25-year-old has decided to stay in the Spanish capital and fight it out with the Welshman, whilst Ozil experiences a further torrent of criticism from the Bernabeu.
The German’s father has been the latest to defend his son’s corner, claiming that Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is not a man of honour.

Ozil is likely to make the attacking midfielder’s debut for the Gunners on Saturday, when the Premier League outfit travel to Sunderland.
