Baggies turn down £5 million offer from QPR.
West Brom have turned down a £5 million bid from QPR for Swedish Jonas Olsson, according to The Telegraph.
Harry Redknapp is said to be keen to strengthen his backline as he looks to bring the London side back from the dead and escape relegation from the Premier League.
QPR have struggled with one of the leakiest defences in the league this season, and Redknapp’s problems have been made worse in recent days by the news that his captain, New Zealand international Ryan Nelsen, is set to depart the Loftus Road side in order to take over as manager of MLS side Toronto FC.
Redknapp had been hoping to pair Nelsen with new signing Tal Ben Haim but that plan has been put on hold following the 35-year old’s departure.
The former Spurs boss has shifted focus to West Brom’ Swedish international, who has been compared to John Terry by his current team mate at the Hawthorns, Romelu Lukaku.
West Brom will be keen to hold onto the player though as they look to build on their impressive start to the season which sees them entering the New Year in 7th place, just three points off Everton in 5th who occupy the Europa League qualification spot.
