Baggies in talks to bring Northern Ireland international to the Hawthorns.
West Bromwich Albion are in talks with fellow Premier League outfit Fulham over the potential sale of utility player Chris Baird, but the Baggies are facing a race against time to sign the Irishman, says the Birmingham Mail.
fanatix tickets – Barclays Premier League tickets are still available for this weekend’s games.
West Brom vs Spurs tickets are on sale from £15 for this Sunday’s match at the Hawthorns.
The two clubs are reportedly in talks at the moment, however, Steve Clarke and Co must finalise a deal before the transfer window slams shut at 23:00GMT on Thurs Jan 31st or otherwise miss out on what would be the Midlands team’s first new addition of the month.
Clarke is currently in desperate need of cover at right back, with the likes of both Steven Reid and Billy Jones out of action through injury and Baird can play in a number of different positions in the team, including right back, left back and all across midfield too.
In fact, when England manager Roy Hodgson was in charge at the Hawthorns, he attempted to buy the Northern Ireland international from the Cottagers, only for the deal to fall through.
However, if talks now progress smoothly, then the 30-year-old defender could be a West Brom player within the next few hours.
