Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted at potential transfer deadline day activity for the club, suggesting that they will be “very active” after a frustrating 1-1 draw at Leicester City did at least maintain the Gunners’ unbeaten start to the season.
It did, however, highlight their need for a senior striker to replace the injured Olivier Giroud, with Yaya Sanogo having struggled and got little change out of Wes Morgan and Liam Moore.
Whilst Wenger certainly didn’t promise that signings will be made, he did hint that tomorrow could be an exciting day for Arsenal fans, perhaps going against the grain of previous deadline days for the club:
“Look, the decision is not to make but to find the personnel – that’s the problem. We are open (to new signings) and we work on it. We are very active.”
