Bulls point guard finally returns after injury lay-off.
Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose returned to action on Saturday night, scoring 13 points in 21 minutes in the pre-season 82-76 win over the Indiana Pacers.
The 25-year-old made his comeback after almost 18 months off the court after suffering a torn ACL in the 2012 play-off series against the Philadelphia 76ers.
It has been a long road to recovery for the Chicago native, but supporters were undoubtedly delighted to finally see him out on the court where he demonstrated some flashes of his old self.
Rose revealed last week that he never felt fully comfortable with returning last season, as perhaps the mental aspect of a return to the court was still hampering him.
However, he showed no sign of caution against Indiana as he exploded to the basket on a number of occasions for a lay-up while also taking contact, and he also threw down a slam en route to posting up 13 points.
Coach Tom Thibodeau rested him for periods before calling it a night early, but he will be delighted to have his talented point guard back on the court and will hope that his team can continue to tune up their offensive work ahead of the new NBA season.
