It has been a year since Peyton left Indy and both parties have enjoyed new success since then.
One year ago today, Peyton Manning gave his final press conference as a part of the Indianapolis Colts organisation.
After 14 years of huge success, money was to prove to be the deciding factor in the split, as Peyton was left to walk free into the free agent market.
Whilst this was a sad day in the franchise’s history, since then both the Colts and Manning are enjoying new found success.
Peyton landed in Denver and led the team to a conference best 13-3 record, and regaining his Superbowl winning form from his Colts days.
Indianapolis were able to use the number one overall pick in the draft on Quarterback Andrew Luck, who transformed the team from a 2-14 2012 season, into an 11-5 team and clinching a wild card playoff spot.
Whilst no fan ever wanted to see Manning leave their team, it was the start of what promises to be a very bright future for the team.
