49ers rout Texans in comfortable win.
The San Francisco 49ers put in a dominant display as they overcame the Houston Texans 34-3 in comfortable fashion at Candlestick Park on Sunday night.
Tramaine Brock set the tone for the night after intercepting Matt Schaub’s first pass before running 18 yards for a touchdown just 90 seconds into the game.
Schaub would eventually throw three interceptions before being replaced in the fourth quarter, however, opposite number Colin Kaepernick went 6 of 15 passing for 113 yards and one touchdown.
Vernon Davis, Frank Gore and Anthony Dixon were all heavily involved in the win, which now puts them back in the race for the NFC West with Seattle after the Seahawks lost at the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
As for the Texans, it was a third straight loss for coach Gary Kubiak who insisted after the game that he would keep faith in Schaub moving forward.
The quarterback ended the game 19 of 35 for 173 yards and a sack, and he will be desperate to turn things around next week.
Schaub's 3 INTs propel the 49ers to a 34-3 victory over the Texans. HIGHLIGHTS – http://t.co/Urc2pdtsyw
