Season slipping away for the Vikings after third loss.
The Cleveland Browns stunned the Minnesota Vikings at the Mall of America Field on Sunday, sealing a 31-27 win to secure their first triumph of the season.
The defeat leaves Minnesota winless after three games, while the Browns had third-string quarterback Brian Hoyer to thank after he threw for three touchdowns despite also having three interceptions after going 30 of 54 passing for 321 yards.
Christian Ponder ran for two touchdowns for the Vikings, but he threw an interception, lost a fumble and took his sixth sack on the final play of the game.
Cleveland did the majority of the damage in the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 17-10 before a mini comeback from the Vikings as they prevented them from adding to their total in the third.
However, the Browns weren’t to be denied as they sealed their first win of the season, while the Vikings were left to contemplate a third straight loss.
