Curry and Thompson see off the Trail Blazers…
The Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat picked up impressive wins on Sunday night to remain unbeaten, while the Los Angeles Clippers fell to their first loss.
Following on from signing his new contract, Klay Thompson has been in sensational form over the last two games and followed up his 41-point display against the Los Angeles Lakers with 29 points in the win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
It was a significant road win for the Warriors, and despite LaMarcus Aldridge putting up 26 points and 13 rebounds, it wasn’t enough for the hosts to avoid defeat.
Elsewhere in the Western Conference, the Sacramento Kings pulled off the shock of the night at the Staples Center, with DeMarcus Cousins leading his team to the win.
Cousins had 34 points and 17 rebounds in a monster performance, and with the Clippers struggling from three-point range, the hosts slipped to their first loss of the season.
However, there were no such problems for the Heat who have started 3-0 in the post LeBron James era, and they are now the only unbeaten team remaining in the Eastern Conference.
Chris Bosh scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and while there were some key contributions across the roster, Dwyane Wade also looked impressive with 19 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks followed up their impressive win over the Cleveland Cavaliers with victory over the Charlotte Hornets at Madison Square Garden.
Carmelo Anthony surpassed 20,000 career points in the NBA and ended the game with 28 points while Amar’e Stoudemire dominated the boards grabbing 10 rebounds in a solid performance.
Sacramento Kings 98-92 Los Angeles Clippers
Toronto Raptors 102-107 Miami Heat
Charlotte Hornets 93-96 New York Knicks
Golden State Warriors 95-90 Portland Trail Blazers
