The ‘King’ brings back chalk toss ahead of tip off…
Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James made his highly anticipated return for the franchise on Thursday night, but it ended in disappointment as the New York Knicks picked up the win.
The night began with James bringing back his infamous chalk toss ahead of tip off which ensured an already raucous crowd exploded to create an impressive atmosphere within the Quicken Loans Arena.
However, the night didn’t go to plan as James struggled with his shooting and ended the game with just 17 points on 5-of-15 shooting as Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks bounced back from their disappointing season opener against the Chicago Bulls with a morale-boosting 95-90 win.
Nevertheless, James did produce a moment of quality in the opening quarter as he showed strength to keep his balance following a hard foul to get the And-1.
It was a memorable night for the franchise and city regardless of the result, but they will be hoping for an improved performance from the entire team when they take on the Bulls on Friday night.
