Ex-world No 1 finally back after long layoff.
Spaniard Rafa Nadal has made a winning return to action after eight months out with a knee injury.
The former world No 1 partnered Juan Monaco in a doubles match at the VTR clay-court tournament in Vina del Mar in Chile.
Nadal had not forgotten how to win as the pair defeated Frantisek Cermak and Lukas Dlouhy of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-2.
Nadal, whose knee problem has lingered despite on-going therapy, had not played since June 28 when he was upset in the second round of Wimbledon by qualifier Lukas Rosol.
The 11-time Grand Slam winner will open his singles campaign on Wednesday against Argentine Federico Delbonis.

Who’s up for strawberries and cream?
Nadal is a huge favourite to win in Chile.
If he doesn’t, questions will follow him to the next two clay-court events in Brazil and Mexico as he continues his preparation for the French Open, which starts on May 26th.
The former world number one will be relieved to be back in action but the hard work really does start now, if he is to get back to his best.
