The 50-year-old is keeping his cards close to his chest.
After reports that Manchester United have rejected a bid from Chelsea for want-away forward Wayne Rooney, Jose Mourinho is giving little away about the club’s pursuit of the 27-year-old.
Retired United manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that Rooney had handed in a transfer request at the end of last season, whilst the Scot’s successor David Moyes has upset the England international with comments he made to the press.
It finally seems that the striker’s time at Old Trafford has come to an end and Mourinho has hinted that a transfer may be agreed.
“The managers of the big clubs are connected with every player,” the Portuguese boss said.
“After so many rumours something becomes true.”
