Unbelievable scenes as corner-men try and give their fighter back his sight.
Fast forward to the 15-minute mark to see the crazy scene:
Who says you need two eyes to win a MMA fight.
On April 12 at the Watch Out Combat Show 24 in Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Alberto Lobo returned to his corner at the end of the second round after dominating his opponent.
Nearby, fight officials were attempting to fix an advertising banner with glue when some of it dripped onto Lobo’s face.
Thinking it was harmless Vaseline, Lobo rubbed his eye thus sealing it shut.
His actions sparked unbelievable scenes as his corner-men attempted to open his right eye so he could finish his featherweight fight against Marcos Nene.
However, when their efforts were fruitless the bout was declared a no-contest, which cause boos to rain down from the crowd.
After further discussion, Lobo was given the victory as he had won the first two rounds before the weird stoppage.
And most people thought UFC 159 had some weird stoppages based on damage done to eyes.
