Mamba hoping to be back as soon as possible.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant is continuing his recovery from a torn Achilles and delighted the crowd in China with his pre-game sprint.
The 35-year-old suffered the injury at the end of the regular season last year, which forced him to miss the play-offs and has in turn ensured he has spent the entire summer in rehabilitation.
With initial signs promising that he will make a complete recovery, question marks still surround a possible comeback date as early speculation cited the first game of the season as a realistic target.
However, despite the clear progress Bryant has made it is unclear as to whether or not he will be ready that early, but the Lakers are encouraged by his recovery speed and envisage him returning sooner rather than later.
Having stayed relatively quiet in the off-season, the Lakers will hope to reach the post season this year but ultimately their bigger ambitions will rest in next year’s campaign as they look ahead to free agency next summer.
Nevertheless, while the crowd in China were delighted to see Bryant warming up on Friday, Laker Nation awaits his return at the Staples Center.
