Colombian was booed prior to kick-off due to speculation.
Napoli ace Juan Zuniga joined in with supporters for an anti-Juventus chant during the friendly win against Galatasaray on Monday night after receiving a hostile reception.
Speculation had suggested that the 27-year-old was on the Bianconeri’s radar this summer, and with his contract set to expire at the end of the season it had looked likely he may quit the San Paolo.
However, with Juve director Beppe Marotta ruling out an exit for Mauricio Isla, thus ending their interest in Zuniga, it would appear that the deal is unlikely to happen as suggested by Football Italia.
Nevertheless that didn’t stop Napoli supporters taking exception to the Colombian, as they booed him prior to kick-off and during the game with his every touch.
Things quickly changed though after Zuniga scored in the 3-1 win, but after failing to celebrate the supporters broke out into a chorus of “Chi non salta Juventino e”, which translates to “Whoever doesn’t jump is a Juventino”.
Hearing the chants which would have been primarily aimed at him, Zuniga won back the hearts of the supporters by continuing to jump on the spot as the game got back underway, which changed the boos to cheers.
As a result, it would appear that a move to Turin is unlikely to happen ahead of the new season, with Napoli boss Rafa Benitez maintaining that Zuniga has an important role to play this year.
