Barca man opens up on a wide range of subjects.

Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta has given an insightful interview following the Catalans’ surprise recent defeat at Real Sociedad.

The midfield player also speaks about former manager Pep Guardiola’s decision to become the next Bayer Munich head coach, goalkeeper Victor Valdes leaving Camp Nou, as well as looking ahead to Thursday’s Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg against Malaga.

“When things don’t go the way you want them to you need to change that sensation,” the Spain international said.

“The draw during Copa del Rey and the defeat in the league last week is something we need to analyse and try to reverse it so it won’t happen again. There is still a lot ahead. There is still a big chunk of the season and also important games like Thursday’s. And we need all of our concentration focused on that.

“I’ve already said that back when he (Pep Guardiola) didn’t have a team. The team he would choose would be greatly benefited from his decision. I have had him as coach and I can say that he is a great coach that teaches you a lot.

“And also the team around him is great. So in that respect I think that the fact that he will be coaching Bayern (Munich) is good news both for Bayern and also for the world of football in general.

“My illusion is to be able to finish my career here. I have been here for a very long time and that is my goal. The only obstacle I could face playing here is that my level decreases. I’ve always said that the day I don’t play well or the club thinks that I won’t be here. But I hope that will happen in the long term.”
