Ex-Barca boss to replace Heynckes next season in Bavaria.
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have announced that former Barcelona head coach Pep Guardiola will be their manager next season.
The Spaniard replaces current incumbent Jupp Heynckes in the Allianz Arena dug-out on a three-year deal.
Guardiola has been linked with the world’s top clubs, including Chelsea and AC Milan, during his year-long sabbatical from football.
The 41-year-old had stated that he wished to manage in the Premier League but the lure of four time European champions Bayern proved too powerful.
Guardiola left the Nou Camp in May after winning 14 trophies during his four year spell in charge of Barcelona, making him the most successful coach in the club’s history
The former midfielder led Barca to two Champions League titles and Bayern will be hoping he can repeat the feat in Bavaria.
Bayern last won the Champions League in 2001 and lost the 2012 final to Chelsea.
