Greater Western Sydney Giants again on the wrong side of the scoreline.
It may not have been for a finals place, but the Gold Coast Suns won’t knock back a chance to their their AFL season with a win, after beating Greater Western Sydney by 83 points.
In a battle of the two newest sides in the competition, the Suns showed how much the Giants will need to improve in the next two to three years if they want to compete, after being beaten 22.14 (146) to 9.9 (63).
Despite missing out on a place in the finals, Gold Coast Guy McKenna was happy with the improvement the squad showed in 2013.
“To go from three wins to eight will give us some relied this year,” McKenna said.
“Our players are into their fourth pre-season ad are now competing for longer, and today we were 12 months more experienced than them (Giants) and it showed.
“But now we have one to two days of review and then the boys take their break.”
