Twente missed out on the chance to go top of the Eredivisie after being held to a goalless draw at Feyenoord, a result that leaves Steve McLaren’s men a point off leaders PSV Eindhoven.
PSV had beaten Heracles 5-1 to go two points clear at the top on Saturday, but it was Feyenoord who had the better opportunities in the first half.
Lex Immers should have buried a volley from a corner but his shot was hit straight at Twente goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov.
There was a good chance for 18-year-old Jean-Paul Boetius five minutes before half-time – but the youngster put his shot wide.

Twente’s Leroy Fer then put an opportunity wide of the post in the 70th minute.
10 minutes later Nacer Chadli hit a volley towards goal – but Feyenoord’s Jordi Clasie cleared it off the line and the visitors ran out of time.
Twente are now a point behind PSV in the table.
