The Durham youngster was unbeaten on 117 at the interval, with the tourists having lost just the one wicket in the morning session, that of wicketkeeper Matt Prior, who edged a wide ball from Mitchell Johnson into the gloves of his opposite number Brad Haddin having made just 26.
