Two wins in two for Chicago so far in pre-season.
The Chicago Bulls sealed their second win in pre-season with a 106-87 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night.
With the initial excitement over his comeback now over, Derrick Rose continued his good work back on the court with 13 points in 23 minutes, ending the game 3-of-8 shooting.
The point guard made one 3-point attempt whilst also adding four rebounds, three assists and three steals during his time out on the floor.
Carlos Boozer added 16 points, Kirk Hinrich and Taj Gibson had 15 each as the Bulls followed up their win over the Indiana Pacers with a comfortable second win in their pre-season schedule.
“I wasn’t winded, I surprised myself,” Rose said according to ESPN. “I guess I’m in (great) condition.”
Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau revealed he is pleased with how Rose is progressing as the 25-year-old continues to look for his rhythm but showed signs of his old explosive self in getting to the basket.
Chicago scored 37 points in the third quarter alone to take command of the game, while Rose spent most of the game guarding Mike Conley who finished with eight points on 2-of-8 shooting.
