Rose back in action at AA Arena on Tuesday night.
Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose has returned to competitive action but despite some spectacular baskets his team trail 54-33 at half-time against the Miami Heat.
The 25-year-old was stripped of the ball in the first play of the game, but bounced straight back with an explosive burst to the basket to level the scores.
However, it was undoubtedly a struggle thereafter with Bulls duo Jimmy Butler and Luol Deng falling into early foul trouble and missing a significant part of the first-half.
The hosts scored a staggering 37 points in the second quarter as the Bulls struggled to get their offensive game going while also failing to deal with the defending champions’ threat.
Rose suffered an indifferent start to the game with turnovers causing problems for his team, while Joakim Noah also sat out the majority of the half.
Nevertheless, the initial reaction from fans was one of delight as Rose returned to action and demonstrated signs of his former self.
