Mourinho admits that the Rooney deal is probably dead in the water…
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that a deal for Manchester United and England forward Wayne Rooney is unlikely, claiming that he will “probably stay at United”.
The Blues took a point away from Old Trafford in their clash against the Premier League champions on Monday night, and despite the lack of goals, Rooney was arguably the best player on the pitch.
Mourinho believes the support United fans have shown him, despite his persistent attempts to leave – makes them a “special club”, and for this reason, the player is unlikely to move this summer.
“Probably now he decides he wants to stay and we will respect that,” he added.
