Big two share the spoils in top-of-the-table clash.
The leading two clubs in Portugal, Benfica and Porto, fought out a thrilling 2-2 draw in Lisbon.
Benfica needed to defeat visiting FC Porto to retain their league lead but it didn’t start well.
Eliaquim Mangala was left unmarked to head Porto into the lead in the eighth minute.
Both sides were unbeaten in the league heading into the game and Benfica were not willing to relinquish that record.
Nemanja Matic levelled the score in style two minutes later.
Jackson Martinez is in great form at the moment – the Colombian took advantage of Artur Moraes mistake to net his third goal in three matches for Porto.
A frantic nine minute goal scoring spell was completed when Nicolas Gaitan made it 2-2.
Unbelievably, that is how it finished.
The draw means that Benfica remain three points clear of Porto at the top of the Primeira Liga.
