US cyclist to speak for first time about drug allegations.
Before his much-anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey, Lance Armstrong says that “he was calm and at ease and ready to speak candidly”.
The disgraced former Tour de France winner will be speaking about allegations that he took performance-enhancing drugs during his career.
“Well I was just driving through his neighbourhood to see what media would be parked outside his house,” said the Associated Press’ Jim Vertuno.
“I saw him coming at me. He was just jogging up the road. I recognised him immediately. I doubled back and pulled over to the side of the road and flagged him down and got him to chat for a few minutes.
“He was quite relaxed. He told me he was calm and at ease and ready to speak candidly with Oprah Winfrey today.”
