Teenager has been linked with an exit from San Siro this summer.
AC Milan striker M’Baye Niang scored a superb goal against the Los Angeles Galaxy on Wednesday, which went a long way to silencing his growing number of critics.
The Rossoneri sealed third place in the International Champions Cup after their 2-0 win over the Galaxy, with Mario Balotelli also finding the net for Massimiliano Allegri’s side.
However, it was Niang’s goal which stole the headlines as he cut in from the right before unleashing a curling strike into the far corner beyond goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini.
The 18-year-old has been the subject of intense speculation over the past few weeks, with the Italian media reporting that he may be on his way out of the club on a loan deal.
Both Sampdoria and Genoa have been rumoured to be in negotiations, while Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest, but he remains keen on proving himself with the Italian giants.
Nevertheless, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has made it clear that the youngster is unlikely to leave until after the Champions League qualifying round, although the situation may change thereafter particularly if the club sign Adem Ljajic from Fiorentina.
However, Niang provided a timely reminder of what he is capable of with his wonderful goal, although he will now be desperate to reproduce that kind of talent in Serie A this season.
