Man United face Wolfsburg in the Champions League on Wednesday, and Louis van Gaal’s men will need to be at their best to secure a positive result.
The pressure is on for the Dutch tactician after they lost their opener against PSV. That result, coupled with Wolfsburg defeating CSKA, means another loss here would be a devastating blow for the Premier League leaders.
United will face a mix of young talented players and familiar faces when they host the Bundesliga outfit, and they must not underestimate their opponents.
Despite the loss of Kevin De Bruyne and Ivan Perisic this summer, Dieter Hecking’s side are currently fourth in the German top flight with three wins, three draws and one loss from their opening seven games.
While Van Gaal will hope to see the likes of Anthony Martial, Wayne Rooney and Memphis Depay continue their fine recent form, here are five players that he will have to look out for to avoid another upset…
5. Bas Dost
The Dutchman scored 16 goals in the league last season, and with Kevin de Bruyne no longer by his side, he will have to take on even more responsibility this year.
He already has six in 10 games in all competitions so far this season.
Dost is more than capable of scoring sublime goals, such as this effort from last year.
4. Max Kruse
Kruse will be tasked with providing support for Dost, but if Hecking opts for a more defensive shape he may have to play key roles in both phases of the game.
Nevertheless, he is one of several players behind the lone frontman that will pose a threat to the hosts.
3. Nicklas Bendtner
Despite never reaching the heady heights that many thought he was capable of at Arsenal, Bendtner has established himself as a cult hero since leaving the Emirates.
Will likely be an option off the bench for the visitors, but he has already bagged a goal this season.

2. Andre Schurrle
The former Chelsea star will be familiar with the atmosphere at Old Trafford, but he hasn’t enjoyed the best of campaign’s so far.
Although he has been in and out of the side in the five games that he has featured in, his energy and offensive threat on the break could be key.
1. Julian Draxler
Decisive in the opening group game against CSKA Moscow with his first-half winner, can he silence Old Trafford with an influential performance in the heart of the Wolfsburg midfield?
He’s more than capable of a moment of individual brilliance as displayed in the goal below, and that could be all that it takes to snatch a win in Manchester.
