Manchester United forward Robin van Persie is now 31 years old, so he will inevitably be on his way out of Old Trafford in the foreseeable future.
However, he may be gone sooner than expected as he is now being pursued by Turkish football club Fenerbahce.
Van Persie scored 10 goals in 29 appearances for Man United in the 2014-15 season, and Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is hesitant to let him go.
The Man United manager wants to be certain that he can find a suitable replacement that can score consistently before he lets someone of van Persie’s caliber leave.
The Dutch international has started to decline since scoring a whopping 30 goals in his final season at Arsenal, which was the 2011-12 season.
He followed that up by scoring 26 in his first season at Manchester United.
Man United will look to recover from a disappointing past two seasons, as they have not finished higher than fourth place since winning the Premier League championship in 2013.
