Fans react to Merrin’s now-confirmed lucrative deal with the Panthers.
St George Illawarra star forward Trent Merrin has signed a lucrative three-year deal to join the Penrith Panthers, and the reaction has been mixed.
A majority of Penrith fans seem to be delighted with the signing, but many are suggesting his $750,000 per season deal is well over market value.
And as you’d expect, Dragons fans aren’t best pleased at hearing the news that one of their key men leave the club at the end of the season.

All the best to @TrentMerrin in the future. Kick some major ass this year and go out with a bang, mate.

I reckon the panthers over paid for Trent Merrin. Didn’t have a great year last season. Not sure if his price tag of $750k is worth it #NRL
